Volunteer

Without our volunteers, The Valerie Fund would only be able to accomplish a fraction of what we do to support sick children and their families. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers give their time and energy in so many different ways, allowing us to minimize our overhead and spend more of our precious resources on programs and services that directly benefit patients.

Volunteer to help The Valerie Fund:

In our main office – Assist The Valerie Fund staff at our office in Maplewood, NJ with duties such as mailings, answering phones, filing, and other tasks that require organizational skills. We also need people to help us plan the holiday parties we hold at each of our seven centers, and to pack gifts for the kids who attend the parties.
At one of our events – Help The Valerie Fund staff at one of the many fundraising events we hold during the year. We need help with event set-up and break-down, raffle sales, auctions, and participant registration.
At Camp Happy Times - For more than 25 years, The Valerie Fund has operated Camp Happy Times, a free one week overnight camp experience for children aged 5-21 who have or have had cancer. Nearly 200 children attend each summer. All our staff and counselors are volunteers. To find out more about applying for a position at Camp Happy Times, call Ashley at 973.761.0422.
